The HEADU Alphabet Tactile Montessori (often titled "Montessori Touch ABC") is a literacy kit designed for children ages 3 to 6. It is a direct application of Maria Montessori’s "Sandpaper Letters" concept, using texture to help children internalize the shapes of letters before they ever pick up a pencil.

 Key Features

• Emery (Sandpaper) Texture: Each letter is printed with a rough, sandy finish. Children are encouraged to trace the letter with their fingers, creating a "muscle memory" of the shape.
• Self-Correcting Puzzles: The kit includes 26 two-piece puzzles. One piece features the tactile letter, and the other features a corresponding object (e.g., "A" for Apple). The pieces only fit together if the match is correct, allowing for independent play.
• Progressive Layout: The individual puzzles can be assembled into one giant rectangular alphabet wall or strip, helping children understand the sequence of the alphabet.
• Word Length Awareness: The puzzle pieces are often sized differently based on the word, helping children visually distinguish between "long" and "short" words.

 Educational Methodology

This set uses a three-period method inspired by Montessori to transition a child from recognition to reading:
